Hidden Falls Regional Park
Hidden Falls Regional Park is one of the most popular parks in the region. Featuring 30 miles of trails, there’s a lot for hikers, runners, bikers and horseback riders to explore. Trails open up into sweeping vistas of the Sutter Buttes and the Sacramento Valley, twist through oak forests and down deep gorges, and run along shady creeks.
The eponymous Hidden Falls is the main destination for many, and there is a deck and benches to rest and enjoy the view after the moderate hike down to see them. There are also places to stop along the river and swim or just wade among the rocks. The Seven Pools Overlook and Canyon Overlook are also popular trails.
There is no potable water available at the park, so be sure to bring plenty of water. Summers can get quite hot, so plan accordingly.
Parking reservations are required on all weekends and most holidays, and on busy weekdays. Reservations must be made online. There is no parking outside of the park. If you arrive at the park on horseback, there is no fee for entry. The park may be closed on extreme fire weather days. Check the county website for the latest information or call (530) 886-4901.
